Jeometrica: a precise stylistic inspiration

On the kitchen created with Scavolini's Jeometrica, designed by Luca Nichetto, the matt grey Matera lacquered base unit doors are enclosed by a Titanium frame to which a chunky handle is applied. The oak veneer Spiga fronts of the tall units have a handle incorporated into the frame.

A system designed for the kitchen, which also extends to the living room and bathroom, comprising a range of coordinated elements and accessories: this is Scavolini's Jeometrica, designed by Luca Nichetto in 2022.

The model strikes a balance between design and art, defined by a cabinet front with a 29mm-thick aluminium frame. The designer’s inspiration for this model – which has evolved over time – draws from the works of Giò Ponti, a master of architecture, and the bold graphics and colours of Ellsworth Kelly and Donald Judd’s artistic creations, reinterpreting their forms.

Scavolini's Jeometrica is internationally-renowned designer Luca Nichetto's first ever kitchen. He does, however, already boast an extensive portfolio of other design projects and has won numerous awards. He collaborates with a number of leading companies, including Ceramiche Refin, Foscarini, Fratelli Guzzini, Gallotti & Radice, Moroso, Salviati, Tacchini, and Venini, to name but a few. We asked Nichetto to talk first of all about the concept behind Jeometrica.
“The project started from a brief that emphasised three fundamental elements: geometric precision, modularity, and functionality. We interpreted this vision by combining minimalist design with the use of innovative materials, creating a versatile kitchen with strong aesthetic impact. With the refinement of the prototype and the subsequent industrialisation of the project, we further worked on finishes and structure, adapting them to current trends while staying true to the original concept.

The Selva-coloured decorative finish defines the Jeometrica composition, with Anthracite-framed doors. The wave-shaped handles are applied to the panel. On the left, the J-Box shelf and the rounded J-System backrest.

A distinguishing feature of Jeometrica is the front with thin frame, the result not only of a well-defined stylistic choice but also of an advanced production process. Various types of handles can be paired with it. “The idea of the thin-framed front for Jeometrica stemmed from a desire to combine traditional style with a contemporary aesthetic. We reinterpreted the traditional framed front, making it sleeker and more modern, to create a design element that would be ‘timeless,’ capable of blending past and present.

This stylistic choice fits perfectly into the overall concept of Jeometrica, which centres around geometric clarity and elegance. The framed fronts of this model are made with great precision, using advanced technologies that balance strength and lightness. Scavolini uses high-quality materials, such as treated wood and lacquered finishes, supported by cutting-edge manufacturing processes. This approach reflects the company's technological know-how, aligned with our vision of a design that combines lasting quality and sustainability.”
