Kitchen trend. Architectural, Composite, Complex

New proportions and and sizes are being balance to produce a new series of highly distinctive kitchens

1. Aster

Pure Glam, designed by Lorenzo Granocchia, stands out for its essential features and pure "soul", with no formal excesses or stylistic crossovers. The idea shown here involves horizontal volumes, made even more striking by the dark grey colour range used. The base units against the wall in Dark Matt lacquerwork with Verve handle (in the shape of a half hexagon) blend well with the fronts of the island in Ash Grey elm wood with narrow slats and Token worked details, featuring a diagonal cut. The unsupported cantilever table fits into the side of the island. Also in Ash Grey elm (this time plain) are the tall units with Ax handle with diagonal cut. On the wall, the imposing Laminam Noir Desir slab is combined with the top.

2. Creo Kitchens

The formal simplicity of Tablet combines with compositional versatility to create a striking furnishing solution, in which solid volumes alternate with the lightweight effect of open compartments. Topped by a shelf-style hood, the 274cm-long monolithic island, in Calce Piombo melamine, is completed by the ABS1 Calce Piombo laminate worktop, with hob, freestanding Hang Top bridge structure and Quick sliding snack bar. Behind, the fronts of the tall units, of the wall units with open elements and radial light and of the base units have a Colorado beige UV lacquered finish. The composition is further enhanced by the Hi-Line panelling, which keeps frequently-used utensils and other items within easy reach. On the wall on the right: the bright, lightweight display cases and the wall-mounted base units, which have the same finish as the island.

3. Molteni&C

The Hi-Line 6 Frame Door is a simple, linear system, designed by R&D Dada Engineered. It reflects the flexibility of the Hi-Line system, and offers countless opportunities for different compositions. On this kitchen, the two opposing islands – for washing and cooking respectively – are striking for the sheer elegance of the eucalyptus wood doors, framed by a pewter aluminium frame. The cabinet with side windows and central area with vertical wine store is no less impactful. The collection of finishes available in the catalogue is now extended by the inclusion of 3D lacquerwork, Rays wood and ceramic.

4. Euromobil

Two models with special features, and displaying a distinctly restrained style, Lain and Antis, provide the name for the new design experimentation Lain Antis (design R&S Euromobil and Roberto Gobbo). The entire compositional system is created with Lain, featuring the Opus Calce fronts, while the integrated worktops and sinks are in In-Side Terra di Matera stoneware Laminam (12 mm thick), which is also used for the back panel and shelves. The Antis model uses a special material: canneté Wood plus Natural, which enhances the bands of the base and island drawers, equipped with an integrated Pro Up handle. The latest innovation is the snack bar with Natural sandblasted oak veneer (40 mm thick), and Leggera leg in extra-clear tempered glass.

5. Valcucine

A delicate bevelled metal profile runs along the edges of Artematica Soft Outline, designed by Gabriele Centazzo. Available in black aluminium, copper or bronze, the rounded profiles are stylish details that enhance the perception of the pure volumes of the island blocks. The concept includes independent modules that can also be joined together via connecting elements. The photos show the model with bronze profile. The wall blocks are in Matt Volcanic Soil Vitrum; the tall units are in Brushed Titanium Zinc; the Insula countertop is in grey Carnico marble with a Noce Tattile® ('textured walnut') worktop whose bevel creates an edge that is just 6 mm thick. The model won the 2022Good Design Award.
