Organic, soft and rounded shapes in the kitchen

New proportions and and sizes are being balance to produce a new series of highly distinctive kitchens

Sinuous curves and references to natural shapes, the result of expert workmanship, describe a kitchen style.

1. Abimis

ph. Colin Dutton

A simple structure combined with the soft lines of the fronts: the Ego model is made entirely of stainless steel, reinterpreting the look of professional kitchens. Inspired by the kitchens of the 1950s, it has round-cornered fronts that fit flush into the structure and handles, also with rounded edges. The hinges of the patented Abimis fronts are invisible, rustproof and do not need to be adjusted, while the joint-free steel worktop guarantees visual continuity and hygiene. In the design shown here, the island with sliding drawers and breakfast bar is juxtaposed with the wall composition that has base units and tall units at the side. Like all the kitchens created by the brand, Ego is custom-made to personal requirements.

2. Aran Cucine

Created in collaboration with Stefano Boeri Architetti, Oasi represents the green soul of the company, expressing the concepts of well-being in the home and sustainability, symbolically represented by the trees at the centre. The Oasi island embraces the idea of well-being also in its design, thanks to its organic shape (with no sharp corners) designed for the function for which it is intended: cooking and bringing diners together around it. Below the Corian Bone worktop with rounded corners is a removable shelf dedicated to conviviality. Again with sustainability in mind, the island fronts are made of recycled oxidised oak.

3. Arredo3

In the kitchen furnished with the Time and Asia models, the rigorous forms are "softened" by the inclusion of some less austere elements. The round snack bar from the Tuttotondo collection has a turned central support from the Arco collection, and the tall units have end pieces with rounded edges (also from the Arco collection) . Like the island, the metallic platinum lacquered tall units are also from the Time model, while the base units against the wall and Ice veneered tall units come from the Asia model. The furnishings are embellished by the new Brera recessed handles, in black painted aluminium, with corners. The worktops, the round snack bar and the backrest are in Statuarietto matt Laminam.

Playing on the idea of the curved line, the Tangram modeldesigned by the García Cumini studio – plays on the sinuous volumes of the island and of the sideboard with central smoked glass windows, which interact with one another and have the same finish as the 3D ribbed wooden doors in Commodore green Anodyc, with metal effect. The design picks up on the modular logic of the ancient Chinese game based on shapes that fit together, with the aim of creating different figures and thus offering multiple combination possibilities. For the island unit, this new version of Tangram features a top in Breccia Imperiale marble with Macaron edge, into which circular induction plates and Oi Champagne handles are fitted.
