Alba hood by Falmec received the Interior Design's Best of Year award by the US magazine Interior Design. This organization celebrates the most outstanding projects and products of the past year, judged according to criteria of aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. The award, come to its nineteenth edition, showcases contemporary creativity in the various categories of design and architecture. This important award follows other prestigious recognition received by Falmec such as the KBB Product Award.
Among the winners, awarded during the evening of 12 December in New York, was Falmec's Alba ceiling hood, created by designers Saggia & Sommella, which stood out in the Kitchen Appliance category for its high performance and minimalist design defined by a clever geometric balance.
This model is characterised by a technological ‘heart’ integrated in the false ceiling and an elegant protruding frame in tempered glass that draws a well-defined and transparent line, becoming the only visible element. The frame is further enhanced by an LED system ensuring a pleasant effect and optimal lighting on the hob.
Moreover, with its perimeter suction system, Alba offers great versatility and maximum discretion, thanks to the white panel that can be tinted to match the desired ceiling colour. An important detail that allows for aesthetic continuity with the ceiling and the rest of the room.
